Lakes Area Counseling uses a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that teaches adolescent/teens to identify and manage their feelings. In addition, the group provides the opportunity to practice new behaviors and learn new skills; mindfulness and radical acceptance, through role play and group feedback. Both behaviors are key to changing behaviors. Teens can be vulnerable to negative emotions and benefit from learning new behaviors that are positive coping skills.
